The average price paid for a Netflix subscription in the US is $9.99 a month, according to a new report.
The latest figures, from comScore, show Netflix’s US subscriber base stands at 2.3 million subscribers.
It said it has a market share of nearly 8 per cent.
Netflix is in the midst of a $9bn US launch of the company’s original content, including original shows like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, with an emphasis on originals.
Its US subscription revenue reached $1.07bn in the second quarter of 2017, comScore said, beating analysts’ expectations by $900m.
The company’s revenues grew by 9 per cent year-on-year.
Netflix also said its streaming platform has a healthy subscriber base and is attracting more and more customers, as the market matures.
Netflix said it had a total of 3.3m paying subscribers globally in the first quarter of 2018, up from 3.2m in the same quarter last year.
Its subscription base is also growing fast.
It has grown by more than a million subscribers globally to 3.5m in 2017, up almost 9 per – per cent from last year, it said.
Netflix’s growth is likely to continue into 2018, with the US market expected to account for more than 90 per cent of Netflix’s worldwide subscriber base, the company said.
